Why I am Running
It is a pivotal time in our nation’s history. You can sense the urgency for change, for questions to be answered and for leaders to lead.
Running to be the Senator in the 30th District is a privilege, especially during these times. To me, it is not about party label or some illusion of power, but about people. Unlike many individuals that run for office I have a full-time job. For the last 26 years I have worked as a physician. On an everyday basis I get the honor of not only working to make lives better and healthier, but also listening to the real concerns of Missourians. In addition, as a school board member for the last eight years I have seen first-hand the challenges we face in ensuring our public education system works for all students.
It is with these experiences that I offer my candidacy to the people of the 30th District. Here is my pledge to you:
aaaaaaaaa
- As your senator I will focus on the key issues that make a difference in your everyday life, healthcare, education and jobs. I will not be sidetracked by the petty political arguments and posturing that is stifling government at all levels today.
- I will continue my work as a physician along with being a senator so that I will always have a direct link to the people of my district. Part of the problem with government today is that representatives see elections and holding office as a career move. As a senator I will be an citizen statesman, in the manner and great tradition of our country.
- Every vote I make will be made on the strong foundation of what is best for the 30th District, not what is politically expedient.
Missouri urgently needs strong leadership. I am confident that I can be the kind of leader that you will be proud of, keeping my feet on the ground, and doing the real work that needs to be done to help make a positive difference in your lives. I look forward to the opportunity to talk further with you about the future of community and our state.
I would appreciate your support and your vote,
aaaaaaaa
